RCIA (For Adults)

St. Mary of the Angels RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) is for anyone who want to know more about what the Catholic Church believes and teaches. We welcome:
- Non-baptized persons who want to become more familiar with Christianity;
- Non-Catholic Christians who wish to learn more about what it means to be a Catholic Christian, and
- Baptized Catholics who would like:
- A refresher course to invigorate their faith;
- To receive sacraments never received, particularly First Communion, Confession/Reconciliation, and Confirmation.
Participants will be prepared—should they choose—to be baptized, make a profession of faith, receive Confirmation and celebrate the Eucharist at the Easter Vigil (the Saturday before Easter). Those who attend the RCIA classes are under no obligation to complete the course or commit to entering the Catholic Church. They will have an opportunity to meet others who are actively seeking the Church as well as the RCIA team who will help and instruct them on their journey to understand more deeply the Catholic faith. The RCIA program meets MONDAYS during the school year, BEGINNING SEPTEMBER 11, and ending on May 20 in the Parish Office at 7:00 pm. For more information, please contact Dan Cheely at 773-278-2644, Ext 227, or at dcheely@sma-church.org.
